Made possible through an ingenious combination of oscillating wheelwork and planetary gears, its wandering three-pointed hour indicator pirouettes as it advances down its trajectory according to the principle of hypocycloids.

As a result, with the passing of every hour, each point of the indicator (coloured red, blue and black) take turns to mark the hours on the square inner dial with matching coloured indexes.
